Visa Information

1. E-VISA

E-Visa facility is available for holders of Spanish passports with effect from November 3, 2015. The e-Visa scheme requires eligible Spanish nationals to apply four days in advance and obtain an Electronic Travel Authorization before travelling to India. It may be noted that the visa is not granted on arrival at the airport.

Please note- Applicant should carry the passport, which is mentioned on Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA) at the time of travel.

2. REGULAR VISA

VFS Global (Madrid-Spain) has been authorized to accept applications for all categories of visas and collect fees/service charges. They also offer an optional service to return passports to applicants by courier.

There are two VFS offices in Spain which are located in Madrid and Barcelona. All applicants for Visa are requested to approach the VFS office in their area. The contact addresses of VFS centres are as under:

VFS global, Madrid is located near the crossing of Avenida Pio XII & Calle de los Caidos de la Division Azul. It can be reached by Metro Station Pio XII - Line 9 (exit Manuel Montilla) or by bus (No. 16, 29, 150, 70, 107, 129).

3. VISA APPLICATIONS FOR DIPLOMATIC/OFFICIAL PASSPORT HOLDERS-

1. Visa applications from holders of Official/Diplomatic passports can only be presented directly at the Embassy on all working days from 09:00 hrs to 12:30 hrs, without prior appointment. Applications can also be deposited by a representative designated by the applicant. The procedure for submission of visa applications for Diplomatic/Official Passports holders is as under:

2 Photographs of size 50 mm X 50 mm (2 sq inches)

Passport of the Applicant, valid for at least 180 days and having a minimum of two blank pages.

2. Since 12 April 2018, holders of Spanish diplomatic passports are exempt from requiring a visa to travel to India for up to a period of 90 days. Diplomatic assigned/accredited to work in India for longer duration must apply for grant of appropriate visa.
